We’re about a third of the way through our tour with Militarie Gun and Public Opinion, and a sizable chunk of our time has been spent in the van. The van is where the magic happens, where inside jokes and bits mutate into impossibly deep lingo and fugue states. We’ve tried explaining these advanced concepts of Dr. Iving, The Brothers Rimm, and Don Henley tucking his sack back to our fellow tour-mates, but it’s mostly met with confused looks and charitable laughs. If it doesn’t sound funny to you, it’s because you’re probably operating on a normal wave of thinking. You have to ride the wave of Van-Madness, otherwise it will swallow you whole and spit you back up in a million pieces. Ian from MG and Kevin from PO have a weekly podcast that they do together. Maybe that’s a good way to regulate your brain? I doubt it. It would be a grotesque exercise of self-indulgence to put microphones in front of us.

The music we play in the van both fuels and pacifies the chaos. I put together a SMALL PLAYLIST of songs so the folks at home can feel like they’re here with us.
